in 340B Health News Releases

Washington, D.C. — 340B Health congratulates Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) on winning the chairmanship of the influential House Energy & Commerce Committee. The oversight panel has jurisdiction over important federal health programs, including the 340B drug discount program and Medicaid.

Rep. Walden’s leadership comes at a critical time as the incoming Trump administration and Congress look to restructure many parts of the American healthcare system.

“We look forward to working with Chairman Walden and we thank outgoing chairman Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) for all his hard work and deep support of 340B over the years,” said Ted Slafsky, President and Chief Executive Officer of 340B Health.

Rep. Walden’s district is home to 20 hospitals in the 340B program. “These providers are essential to caring for the underserved of Oregon,” said Slafsky. “The program is absolutely critical to health care providers serving our most vulnerable and must be protected.”
