OVERVIEW: Are you or one of your colleagues new to 340B? Join us for 340B Health’s introductory series on 340B basics! This year’s 340Bootcamp is a three-part webinar series intended for those new to 340B or for those who want to brush up on key facts and review a summary of developing 340B issues. While this series is designed for beginners, we encourage 340B experts to also join us for using these resources for onboarding and education within your organization. All webinars will include time for Q&A.

Part 1: What Is 340B?
We begin the series with an exploration of the history and intent of the 340B program, how it works, hospital eligibility requirements, key stakeholders, compliance requirements including the prohibition against diversion and the 340B patient definition guidelines and a discussion of HRSA audits.

Part 2: Inventory Management, Billing & Reimbursement
In Part 2 we dive into 340B requirements including the GPO prohibition and prevention of duplicate discounts. Additionally, we discuss logistical considerations that influence how 340B hospitals manage their 340B drug inventories and processes for purchasing. We also cover the different billing and reimbursement policies that apply to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims for 340B drugs, including claim identification rules and situations in which payers may limit use of 340B. Setting us up for Part 3, Part 2 will touch upon inventory management considerations for purchases at wholesale acquisition cost when seeking backend rebates for 340B-accepted claims.

Part 3: 340B Rebates, the Inflation Reduction Act, and Contract Pharmacy
Part 3 explores the highlights of developing 340B issues, such as movement toward changing 340B into a backend rebate and the intersection between the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) negotiated price caps and rebates. Part 3 will also provide key points about the impact of manufacturer restrictions on contract pharmacy, including related litigation and manufacturer audits. Additionally, we will discuss state contract pharmacy laws protecting covered entities’ access to contract pharmacy, state reporting requirements for 340B, and federal advocacy efforts to protect 340B.
