HRSA Audit Insights: What Results Reveal and What We’re Watching

Shortly following HRSA’s June 2024 update to the Office of Pharmacy Affairs’ homepage that appeared to confirm the agency would soon be releasing held back audit reports, we began to learn of released audit reports with diversion findings. Detailed discussions with audited hospitals about the underlying circumstances of claims cited as findings have enhanced our understanding of HRSA’s 340B compliance expectations. These conversations have also provided valuable insight into the processing of claims and facility data, revealing some challenges for compliance oversight. In this webinar, we will discuss key observations about diversion findings and discuss implications for 340B compliance. We will also review trends in duplicate discount findings, sources of OPAIS records inaccuracies, and discuss strategies for strengthening compliance and preparing for an audit.
