Throughout 2022, the 340B hospital community experienced a mixed bag of program developments. While the contract pharmacy dispute fueled by a growing number of drug manufacturers remains unresolved, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of 340B hospitals in a case challenging a deep Medicare outpatient drug payment cut. HRSA audit findings continue to highlight flexibilities in its enforcement of patient definition, whereas its recent Information Collection Request suggests clarification about how pharmacies should be listed in the participation database. This webinar will examine the year’s major 340B developments through the lens of the operational and financial impact on participating hospitals. Among other topics, we will discuss strategies for navigating restrictions and conditions on access to 340B for drugs dispensed by contract pharmacies, how recent developments in patient definition have shaped compliance, and successful advocacy efforts that have encouraged positive action by the government and other key stakeholders.
