Session Description:
Personal stories make your message meaningful and compelling to policymakers and emphasize the need for action or change. Stories are more memorable than facts or statistics, but crafting a powerful story requires practice and skill. Advocates often struggle to balance authenticity and brevity with creating a compelling narrative.
With this training, we aim to empower advocates and instill confidence and comfort in storytelling. We’ll show you how to approach storytelling in a way that speaks to your mission as well as the impact on policymakers, so you can maximize your effectiveness and reach your grassroots advocacy goals.

Laura Brigandi, Manager, Digital Advocacy Practice, Public Affairs Council
Laura Brigandi has over fifteen years of experience in government affairs and advocacy and a long track record of grassroots program management. In her current role as Digital and Advocacy Practice Manager for the Public Affairs Council, she oversees all programs, resources, and member services related to grassroots and digital advocacy, including two of the Council's signature events, the Advocacy Conference and the Digital Media and Advocacy Summit. Shane Kelley, Director of Member Services, 340B Health
Prior to joining 340B Health, Shane was the director of marketing and community outreach for a nonprofit critical access hospital in Maryland. He earned his MS and BS in Marketing from San Diego State.
