Impact Profiles
340B Health puts a high value on transparency. Toward that end, since 2015 we have strongly encouraged our members to complete a 340B Impact Profile that describes their safety-net role and illustrates how 340B savings support their safety-net mission. Hundreds of hospitals have completed an Impact Profile since we launched the initiative. The profiles include such information as:
- The hospital’s approximate annual 340B savings
- Specific programs and/or services 340B savings help support
- Services or programs provided to low-income and/or rural patients that would otherwise be unavailable in the hospital’s service area
- Programs and/or services a hospital would have to cut back or eliminate if it were to lose 340B savings
- Disproportionate share hospital adjustment percentage
- Distance between the hospital and the next closest institution that provides similar services
In 2016, we released a 340B Impact Profile Guidebook to help hospitals identify, gather, analyze, and report the data and facts that go into each profile. See the examples below.
