in 340B Health News Releases

WASHINGTON, D.C.— 340B Health is adding two veteran health policy experts to its leadership team to represent more than 1,400 hospitals and health systems participating in the 340B drug pricing program.

Tom O’Donnell is the new Senior Vice President of Government Relations, starting today. He will serve as the organization’s chief lobbyist and government affairs strategist, leading advocacy with Congress and the administration as well as supporting member hospitals with state government advocacy. Tom is an experienced government affairs executive with a long record of successfully advancing health care policy priorities. He previously served as the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, where he led federal and state advocacy and public policy. He also spent more than 20 years on Capitol Hill.

Eliza Bangit is the new Senior Vice President of Legal and Policy, starting Sept. 26. She will serve as the organization’s lead on developing and implementing policy positions, legal strategy, and member education. Prior to joining 340B Health, Eliza was General Counsel to DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority (HBX), the agency responsible for the District of Columbia’s online individual and small group insurance marketplace. Prior to that role, she was the agency’s Director of Marketplace Innovation, Policy, and Operations, overseeing day-to-day operations of the marketplace. She was part of the initial group of experts tasked with implementing the Affordable Care Act for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under President Obama. Before that, she served as a Senior Research Associate for 10 years at Georgetown University’s Health Policy Institute.

“We are thrilled to add these two remarkable health care leaders to our team at 340B Health,” said Maureen Testoni, the organization’s president and CEO. “Tom and Eliza are skilled at advancing the priorities of organizations committed to connecting patients with the health care they need. Their talent and experience will strengthen our ability to enhance and defend 340B at a critical time in its 30-year history of ensuring access to patient care.”
