340B HEALTH BOARD ELECTS TWO NEW MEMBERS
WASHINGTON, D.C.— The 340B Health Board of Directors has elected two new members representing hospitals and health systems participating in the 340B drug pricing program.
Elie Bahou, PharmD, MBA, is senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer for Providence Health and is based in Irvine, Calif. He oversees pharmacy services for the system, which is headquartered in Renton, Wash., and operates in seven states. Prior to joining Providence, he was the vice president for managed care, payer contracting, and strategic business development for Cardinal Healthcare, a health services company headquartered in Ohio. Before that, he was the senior vice president for pharmacy network relations and contracting for UnitedHealth Group and its subsidiary OptumRx, headquartered in Minnesota. He started his pharmacy career at Rite Aid Corp., where he progressed to the position of senior director. He has a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kansas, an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from St. John’s University.
Damon Redding, PharmD, MBA, is vice president and chief pharmacy officer for Trinity Health, based in Livonia, Mich. He oversees pharmacy services for the system, which operates in 26 states, and serves as president of Trinity Health Pharmacy Services, LLC. Prior to joining Trinity, he was interim national president of acute care pharmacy and informatics and the national senior director of acute care pharmacy at Kaiser Permanente, a health system based in Oakland, Calif. He started his career as a clinical pharmacist for Northside Hospital Healthcare System based in Atlanta, where he progressed to the position of system director of pharmacy operations. He has a Doctor of Pharmacy from Hampton University School of Pharmacy, a Master of Public Health in Healthcare Administration & Policy from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and a Global Executive MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
