Washington, D.C.—Yesterday, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) wrote to the chair and ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee to request a hearing on the recent Government Accountability Office report about Medicare Part B spending at hospitals participating in the 340B drug pricing program.

As we have stated before, there are very serious methodological problems with the GAO report. (Click here for more details about our concerns.) 340B Health has retained outside experts to evaluate Medicare Part B spending at 340B disproportionate hospitals in more depth. We expect to be able to share our findings this fall. We again encourage policymakers to work with 340B stakeholders on this issue and not make changes that would undermine this vital program.
