HRSA Holding Webinars 9-13 on Revamped 340B Database
The Health Resources and Services Administration is holding separate introductory webinars Wednesday, Sept. 13, for healthcare providers and drug manufacturers on its forthcoming replacement for the 340B drug discount program database.
HRSA’s Office of Pharmacy Affairs announced the webinars about the new IT system, called 340B OPAIS, in Sep. 5 emails to 340B program stakeholders. Both webinars will be about the system’s registration component, which will be released in mid-September. “The registration component of the new 340B OPAIS will modernize the current 340B Database to enhance its functionality and security for both manufacturers and covered entities,” HRSA said in the email. “This new system will increase the integrity and effective use of 340B stakeholder information.”

“While all stakeholders can attend the webinars, there is a limited amount of space,” HRSA said. “Therefore, we encourage that you only attend the session that is pertinent to you. Both webinars will be recorded and can be viewed on the OPA website after September 13, 2017.”
340B OPAIS will also be home to the long-awaited secure website that will give providers a way for the first time to check whether they are being charged in excess of verified 340B ceiling prices. The pricing system “will be released at a later date,” HRSA said.
