STATEMENT ON COMMITTEE PASSAGE OF HARMFUL HOUSE 340B LEGISLATION

in 340B Health News Releases

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, the full House Energy and Commerce Committee voted to advance legislation opposed by hospital and hospital pharmacist associations because of the harmful effects they would have on 340B hospitals. As noted in our previous joint statement, we oppose provisions in H.R. 3561 and H.R. 3290 because they would impose burdensome and misleading new reporting requirements on providers participating in the 340B drug pricing program. The following statement is attributed to Maureen Testoni, president and CEO of 340B Health:

“340B hospitals strongly oppose House legislation imposing burdensome reporting requirements because they will undermine the program’s mission and provide a misleading picture of the real impact that savings have on care for patients and vulnerable communities in need. We will work with lawmakers to ensure they fully understand the adverse implications of these onerous requirements and urge them to reject them if they come to the House floor.”
