STATEMENT REGARDING CMS ANNOUNCEMENT ON 340B HOSPITAL DRUG COST SURVEY
WASHINGTON, D.C.— The following statement on today’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) notice regarding the rollout of its proposed 340B hospital cost acquisition survey is attributed to 340B Health President and CEO Maureen Testoni:
“Today’s announcement is part of a continuing effort by CMS to slash Medicare payments to 340B hospitals. A U.S. district court twice has ruled that such Medicare cuts are unlawful, yet CMS continues to pursue this misguided policy. Instead of undermining the health care safety net, the agency should withdraw this plan, restore Medicare payments to their statutory levels, and reimburse all affected hospitals for the revenue they have lost since January 2018.”
